HONEST, REAL DOWN TO EARTH PEOPLE!!!!!
Being a young, female, BLONDE girl who drives a 1965 mustang that LOVES to have mysterious problems, im extremely skeptical about auto shops. Knowing i know little about cars, i know i am very easy to take advantage of. I did a lot of research on Yelp trying to find a good auto shop in Houston, and the reviews for Montrose tire and auto impressed me. So many people said how honest they were, so i decided to take my car there.
The reviews were correct. They were extremely professional, matter of fact, and explained everything to me. They kept in contact me frequently to give me updates on my car. When i went to pick up my car, one of the employees actually pulled me outside and let me know that while they could fix a certain part on my car, i would probably find a cheaper deal if i went to an auto shop that specialized in just that!!! Can you really ask for any more honesty than that?
I have taken my car back a few times and they have continued to be trustworthy and incredible.

Going to the mechanic is about as much fun as having one's prostate examined. The irony of the central role of lube for both is not lost on me.
To say that I'm skeptical of mechanics is an understatement. I EXPECT the worst from them, but I'm very pleased to say I received the very best from Montrose Tire & Auto. I needed coolant and an oil change, a simple need, but for the automotively illiterate such as myself it was as confusing as Mandarin (I've never studied Mandarin). I needed my vehicle right away, so I decided to have them add coolant, and come back later for the oil change. They added the coolant, and told me it was on the house, saying that it wasn't much coolant (they completely refilled my coolant), and saying hardly any labor was involved, and just to come back when I needed something! They also checked my oil level and added a little oil since I was very low on oil. All in all, the visit cost me $20, and the universally poor view I held of mechanics. Also, I am contemplating taking up Mandarin.
I really need to emphasize that every single person I met there offered impeccable service. The thing is, I think good customer service was only part of it; they all seemed like genuinely good people. I even observed the owner, and by the way he spoke to his staff and customers - just the humble disposition he has - let's just say sometimes truly good people resonate with you. I'm coming here for all maintenance on my car. If they sold coffee and doughnuts I'd come here for that too.
Good people, great service, no lube.
